First off - Nice page here man.
Looks liek i am way late in finding this tough since it is 2011 now, i see the last entry was quite some time ago.

i am a little peeved however. I went to My Parents house this evening, they both play full tilt , only as free players and i have played on their accounts before just to try it out.
This evening however i decided that i did like it and that i didn't want to ruin thier play chip stacks by adding or subtractiondg to them anymore.

I logged on to thier system and my email account - pulled up full tilt and wentto creat a new account for myself - after i did that i figurred i could play at home or where ever.
Funny thing happened however. I was told after submitting in a nice little white box that i had to validate my account by going to my email and copying a code. Fine I thought, that makes sense.
so I went to my email again and clicked my full tilt validation email and it said I didn't have a code yet - that I needed to write said address and ask for one.

Ok I thought, must be some type of security thing.
so I wrote and asked and nothing happened. No email came back. I waited quite awhile then gave up and played a few games of solitaire - The parents came home and after visting for awhiel I went home.

I ended up checking back on my email for teh validation code so i could enter it and play on my system. I opened an email from full tilt that stated I was not getting a validation code - My account had been terminated - and it gave a list of two other accounts that had been closed!!! Both my parents accounts have been closed.

I do not know if they were sent the same email I was sent saying that the accounts were all closed. I can't believe this happened! It's amazing to me that they closed my parents accounts just because I asked for a validation code.

My dad probably will laugh about it, he really does not care very much about it , but my mom is is going to freak out, she playes every single day! she talks about it all the time! shes going to be so mad - probably at me and the site.

I am so glad no real money was involved but i am jkust sick that they have done this.

I wrote to them pleading but I have little hope that they will restore Mom's account.
i came in here thinking maybe I convince mom that poker stars is better than full tilt and that she should just switch seeing as how I messed up her account for her.

1. the Ps software definitly is better than full tilt. i play on both sites and i've encountered A LOT more connection issues caused by the software on full tilt than on pokerstars.

1.1 i find the hand history better with full til(immediately the graphics instead of text) and games can be found much easier but that's my opinion).

1.2 on full tilt you can see the opponents losing hand in the hand history even if they chose not to show them. pokerstars gives you that option as well.(i prefer not to show my hand)

2. The players on pokerstars generally seem to be much looser than on fulltillt.

3. FPP vs FTP. getting those points is on both sites equal. (based on micro stakes and low stakes sng's) but you can do a lot more with them in pokerstars than on full tilt.
FT offers satelites for big tourneys pokerstars offers 'freerolls' for FPP with RL cash as payout
pokerstars seems to be more europa friendly with the shop..more items can be delivered to europa

4. a big plus for serious beginners. FREEROLL'S!!!! ALOT MORE on FULLTILT than pokerstars. daily country specific 100$ freeroll, daily 2 150$ freeroll, daily X number of freeroll satelite to 1K garantuee.

pokerstars does offer freerolls, but in my opinion not as many.

5. pokerstars does offer more cash tourneys for the really micro stakes, lowest i've seen is a 2 ct's 990 turbo sng... the lowest on full tilt is a .25 one as satelite.

all in all...full tilt is my favorite pokersite despite the connction issues. it's the freerolls and the , in my opinion, easier to use interface that does it.

Try to explain this about fulltilt vs pokerstars though, on starts u go months w/out seeing quads if u reguarly play 5 draw, being how the odds of course r quite low. Fulltilt just started their 5 draw today and I've only observed 30 hands and saw quads twice and a royal flush, two of those hands dealt pat. I know the debate on how sites aren't intentionally rigged, and i dont beleive they are, but fulltilt obviously doesnt deal fairly, this would be impossible to run a simulation of 30 hands for six players and see this come up.

got to say this for all my fellow gamblers out there, and to hopefully reduce the profits of the criminal syndicate of Full Tilt Poker. The full tilt operators have gotton so greedy that the game doesnt resemble poker anymore. Most hands are geared for big action, and usually big suckouts. A quote from above...

Been playing on both sites for some time now, and I have to say pokerstars is way better. I have never in my life seen so many no-brain players sucking out so many people like I have on fulltilt.

I don't know about your 1 for 4 with pocket aces John. Against 1 other player or multiple players? Pre flop or post flop? Pocket Aces are slightly better than 50-50 to win pre flop against one other player with KK. But much like flipping a coin you are not more or less likely to win a one on one AA pre flop showdown because you won or lost several before. If you flip a coin and it lands heads 5 times in a row you still have a 50-50 chance of landing heads on your 6th flip. So even if you are a 60-40 favorite to win a hand with AA and you lose several times in a row with those odds it isn't that unusual. However if you continue to play those hands over a an extended period of time you should eventually come out ahead.

I played at both sites for awhile but now I pretty much play exclusively on FullTilt. I just like it better for some reason. Their online poker academy is really great too. No one has mentioned that. They have tons of videos from famous professional poker players, challenges, even tests. If you score well on the tests you get entered into a monthly freeroll to play for money. When you complete challenges you get academy credits which can be used to enter tournaments, or get poker literature and apparel and whatnot.

never played at stars but i can tell you that on full tilt, you will win if you get your money in ahead. cant tell you how many times i have been ahead only to see my opponenet his a 1,2,3 or 4 outer on me to send me to the rail or broke in a cash game.
Donks will call with almost and suited ace and whenever you got a big pair, overs always seem to show up. running cards to make straight and flushes are too common.
maybe ill try stars..as for now, losing 1k in 1 week from people hitting river straight, flushes, full houes and quads on me is enough in med stakes game is quite enough. and never play rush poker, its the devil. you will get set up. If you have AA in your hand playng NL Hold em, somebody will happen to have 3 kings. (exaggeration but seems like iT)

If you want to go 1 for 4 with pocket aces play no limit hold em at full tilt poker.
I went 1 for 4 with pocket aces in one day at FTP and this was betting big pre flop. River always saved them. FTP likes big pots.

Full tilt's poker uses your system clock and hardware type to determine the hands that are dealt, and this technique is "one percent off" when it comes to hands winning.

That is what we know, who knows what FTP isn't telling us. If you don't believe me, read the countless posts on the internet about people being in the profits at other poker sites. Only to be losers at FTP.

(Sorry for my poor english...) Nice article! I agree with your result, that pokerstars is the right site to play. However, I see a huge (NOT marginal) difference between pokerstars and fulltilt. Fulltilt is good in marketing. The rest is a nightmare.

Their support is a real "pain in the ass". I could tell you a story, which you would NOT believe...

Their "security" is a joke... They do not catch cheaters who use prohibited tools like "poker edge". While with pokerstars I can not even visit such sites in my browser.... I can install and use illegal tools with FTP with no problem.

The FTP client is full of bugs. I sent many bug reports to FTP and never received a reply

Support: They answer with delays and never reply into what you asked but keep sending standard support templates. In case you have a serious problem (like "account closed") and need their help, you are alone.

Finaly and worse: FT is fullt of bots. You can even run your own bot at FT... nobody cares. Try the same at Pokerstars....
